This year, as in the past, we are joining with many others in North Texas to participate in HopeWalk North Texas 2017 which takes place this Saturday, October 7, 2017. HopeWalk is a fun, family-friendly two-mile walk to raise money for HopeKids, Inc.
Each year, approximately half a million children are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses and medical conditions including cancer. HopeKids strives to support these children and their families by providing a unique support community that surrounds them with the message that hope if a powerful medicine. This support includes special events that allow the child and his or her family to enjoy activities that they might not otherwise be able to. Examples include a movie just for HopeKids families at a movie theater, a visit to a ranch to interact with therapy horses, or a special date night for parents who don’t often get a chance to have a night out.
HopeWalk North Texas 2017 is open to the public and has no entry fee. The two-mile, family friendly walk will take place at Maverick Stadium on the UT Arlington campus at 1307 W. Mitchell St., Arlington. There will be plenty of fun for the whole family with entertainment, appearances by special guests, refreshments, and more. Groovy Sound Productions will be there to energize the walkers and provide music to keep the fun going! The only requirement is a minimum of $100 per team fundraising goal. There is no limit to the number of persons that can be on a team. All proceeds benefit HopeKids North Texas and the HopeDay Program of Events. All gifts are 100% tax deductible.
